ARTIST'S STATEMENT

From the beginning of time, stone has represented the solid form from which came creativity. In the mythic and religious senses, stone represented the dwelling place of God or the soul. Stone is the symbol of being, of cohesion, and of harmonious reconciliation with self. It is the foundation of creating sculpture. Carving sculpture is the process of allowing the energies of the stone and the artist to dictate the visual form that emerges from the stone.Sculptures are the stepping stones of my inner journey. They are rooted in the universal processes, they reflect where I have been, where I am now, and where I am going. My sculptures evolve from an intense need to communicate the joy of life and living.
